BBVFC Teams on Fire in Golf Classic - Member-sponsored teams win both divisions
Friday, June 6, 2008
Teams sponsored by BBVFC members smoked the competition in this year's Quiet Resorts Charitable Foundation Golf Classic, proceeds from which will benefit the fire company.
The team of Assistant Secretary Monte Wisbrock, former Bethany Beach Town Manager Glen Hudson, author Ed Dee and sales executive Ed McGovern won the net division with a phenomenal score of 50. Wisbrock commented that Hudson's tee shots were "fun to watch."
A team sponsored by member Bob Minutoli and comprising his son, John, local businesmen Charlie Zonko and John Quattabaum and Bayside Director of Golf Bill "Hammer" Hamilton won the gross division with an excellent 57. Having a PGA Professional on your team never hurts in a golf match!
The membership thanks the Foundation for making the BBVFC a beneficiary of this great event. Special recognition goes to CPT Mike Suit for representing the company on the organizing committee and for managing sponsorship sales and volunters, to members Dan Lyons and Chris Acton who spent the day enticing unsuspecting golfers into fruitless bets on one of Cripple Creek's daunting par 3's and Asst. Chief Justin Norman for delivering Engine 70-2 for display.
