STORM MAKES FOR A LONG DAY
Sta. 70 responds to 19 calls in 24 hours
The count started with wires down in Bethany Beach at 2305 Sunday and reached 19 with a stranded vehicle in Bethany Beach at 2000 Monday. In between, there was an electrical fire, two CO detector activations, four wires down and two automatic fire alarms in north Bethany, a residential power surge and wires down in South Bethany, four more wires down......

On Saturday April 3 around 0900 hrs the Ocean City Communications dispatched a structure fire at Nautical Lane in Montego Bay area of the City. The command unit with Chief 70 along with Tower 70 with a crew of 4 responded. Ocean City L109 arrived and advised the fire was out but had extensive overhaul. He reduced the assignment to the 1st two Ocean City engines, Ocean City PM 3, Tower 70 and the command unit. Ambulance Agreement

Bethany Beach became the final of the so-called “Big Four” communities this week to sign on to a memorandum of understanding with the Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company (BBVFC) for the provision of ambulance service through 2019. With a unanimous vote of the Bethany council at their April 18 meeting, the BBFVC now has long-term agreements with officials representing 70 percent of properties in their proposed coverage area.
