Basic fire training for new and junior mermbers - Bethany Beach Fire Headquarters

On Monday evening, 24 August 2015, the Bethany Beach Fire Company conducted training for junior and recent members. These training evolutions were under the supervision of Assistant Chief, Todd Hickman and Lt. Bill Bowden Jr. It entailed the use of SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus), ladder evolutions, forcing open locked doors, handling a charged water line with precise aim to hit an object, and finally crawling through a 14” ladder with full gear and air pack to simulate standard wall openings. The following members participated in tonight’s training: 1. Assistant Chief, Todd Hickman 2. Lt. Bill Bowden, Jr. Junior Firefighters, Jeff, Joel, Logan, Trevor, Bailee and Probationary Firefighter, Dan. Traffic control was under the direct supervision of Captain Bill Bowden, Fire-Police.
